The bioinformatics platform presentation

The resources placed at the disposal of the scientific community are:

   1. competences of a data processing and bioinformatic specialist  team
   2. processing capacity of infrastucture of calculation
   3. storage and provision capacity of data of the servers
   4. accesses to the data banks generalist or specialized
   5. software of the community bioinformatics

The missions of the bioinformatic platform are declined around 9 points:

   1. To offer to the local community an adapted and powerful material and software infrastructure
   2. To communicate on the evolution of the hardware, software, on the various actions undertaken on the platform
   3. To train the users
   4. To provide a support to the other local platforms
   5. To provide a support bioinformatic to the priority scientific programs of biology and bioinformatic
   6. To propose an animation around the bioinformatic platform
   7. To place at the disposal of the working stations “framed” near the platform
   8. To answer at the requests of expertise
   9. To develop programs in dialogue with the local community and other Génopoles.

The organization of the platform comprises three levels

   1. the GI génopole which definite the missions and entrusts the follow-up of it to the Scientific Committee of Users (CSU),
   the 2. CSU which definite the strategy of the platform, contribute to the hierarchisation of the priorities and operation follows from there,
   3. the platform team which implements the strategy and manages the whole of the projects led by the platform.
